It&#8217;s also easy if your intention is to practise being in the state of mind of conscious awareness until such time as it becomes natural.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The No answer is often the easiest choice, even if it doesn\u2019t truly serve you, that&#8217;s because modern life bombards us with distractions and daily demands, so the simplest option is often just to get through the day and let life happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This response is completely normal. It\u2019s linked to worry and stress, and our brain uses it to alert us to potential danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Intentional living requires a stock take<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-custom-border is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6589-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218\" style=\"border-radius:30px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6589-1.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6589-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6589-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/6589-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When you decide to live your life with intention, you must start by <strong>taking an inventory of your life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means to take a close check on your relationships, your finances, your lifestyle, your motivations and anything else that makes you tick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To hone in on this <strong>vital first, and most important step<\/strong>, requires you to take time out to examine the things you think about and do on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most effective way to do this is to ask yourself the many many questions \u2018why?\u2019 Some examples are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why do I do the job I do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why am I with my partner?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why have I chosen the friends I have?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why don\u2019t I feel successful?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These and the many other \u2018why\u2019 questions you can ask yourself are important because they reveal something fundamental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It shows you that everything you think and do, is in actual fact a series of choices whether you make them intentionally or not.  It doesn&#8217;t matter if you do things because you are coerced, forced or as a passive automatic response without full intention or awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you <strong>acknowledge<\/strong> that many of the things that occur in your life are based on a <strong>series of your choices<\/strong>, and you face this with your full recognition, you\u2019re well on your way to living intentionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it\u2019s worth noting, that it&#8217;s very likely that you&#8217;ll realise in the process that <strong>every question you ask<\/strong>, really <strong>deserves <\/strong>and<strong> requires<\/strong> an answer from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is when given the number of numerous potential questions you can ask, and therefore the numerous number of answers you need to find, it can be quite become daunting.  This will be in particular if your answers appear elusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This contrary to what it might feel like, <em><strong>is<\/strong><\/em> an important part of the process of creating intentional living.<br>This is where you get to assert your intention to find all the answers no matter how long it takes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong><strong>Intentional living reinforces how you react?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-custom-border is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/29710-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-219\" style=\"border-radius:30px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/29710-1.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/29710-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/29710-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/29710-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve begun the process of knowing where you currently are in life, the next step will be to focus on <strong>how you react to the circumstances <\/strong>in your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living intentionally recognises this importance because <em><strong>everything<\/strong><\/em> that happens to you whether good or bad will be down to how you choose to react.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s look at some examples of how you can choose to react negatively (and understandably) if someone is rude to you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can react <\/strong>by being rude back because you\u2019re angry and upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can become depressed <\/strong>because this person\u2019s rudeness reminds you of all the people in the past who were also rude to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can do nothing but simmer and plot <\/strong>about how you\u2019ll get the person back as you keep your anger on the boil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now if you choose to react with positive intention, you can do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can decide <\/strong>not to react with anger but instead assess the person isn\u2019t worthy of your anger and walk away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can ask <\/strong>if there was anything you did to provoke the rudeness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can ask yourself <\/strong>what there was for you to learn about yourself and your reaction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can assess <\/strong>then let go, knowing you acknowledged the event as something valuable that you won\u2019t allow a repeat of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can affirm <\/strong>your worthiness recognising no one has the power to affect you if you don\u2019t react and allow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Intentional living puts the power in your hands<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-custom-border is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"844\" src=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/119783-1.jpg\" alt=\"Intentional living reinforces how you react\" class=\"wp-image-222\" style=\"border-radius:30px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/119783-1.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/119783-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/119783-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/119783-1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole purpose of living intentionally is to take control of your life. Starting this process can reduce the <a href=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/12\/04\/anxiety-1\/\">anxiety<\/a> and stress that come from feeling powerless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key question to ask yourself is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you feel deserving of power, happiness, and peace in your life?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your answer is yes, intentional living encourages you to explore solutions that bring harmony and peace as your ultimate goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask yourself questions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Which parts of my life bring sadness or friction?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do these challenges leave me feeling powerless to make changes?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beauty of intentional living is that through this process, you are constantly reminded that you <strong>deserve all the good things in life<\/strong>, and that it\u2019s your right to pursue them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional questions to guide you include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s my vision for the life I choose and deserve?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Which parts of my life make me feel energized, fulfilled, and alive?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By reflecting on these questions, intentional living helps you identify what matters most and take conscious steps toward a life filled with purpose, peace, and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong><strong><strong>How can you live intentionally?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-custom-border is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" src=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-223\" style=\"border-radius:30px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thillow.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pexels-tima-miroshnichenko-6321605-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Work from your <strong>core values<\/strong> to help you choose the direction you\u2019d like to take in life.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not necessary to have it all worked out, but you do need to know what matters to you the most in your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re struggling to decide what your core values are, just start from recalling the times you were <strong>happiest and felt proud <\/strong>of yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From here decide what matters to you the most, and then try to align your life to maintaining or achieving your desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you know what your core values are, create daily habits to reinforce them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your core value is to take care of your loved ones, remember to show your love and care every day.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If it\u2019s to have financial stability, keep a weekly check on how much you\u2019ve spent, how you\u2019ve reduced your debt, and how much you could put into your savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to lapse so to make sure you\u2019re not returning to auto-pilot living, when you have to make a decision take some time to ask yourself the question: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why am I doing this?&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There should be a purpose behind every decision you make, so if you can&#8217;t answer <strong><em>why <\/em><\/strong>or you&#8217;re not happy with the answer you are not making a powerful choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That as we covered before, is a huge part of intentional living.
